Angola-Hogsback Lake KOA

If you're looking for a really great campground with TONS of things for the kids to do and a great family, friendly atmosphere... The Angola-Hogsback Lake KOA has been top-notch!

We're avid KOA fans! We've traveled to many KOAs around Michigan and last October while looking for a campground with Halloween festivities that had an open site, we ran across the Angola-Hogsback Lake KOA.

A big chunk of this campground are seasonal! So lots of really cool sites to look at. In October we chose to be down on the waterfront of the lake! We had a dock right behind our rig and it was a GORGEOUS view of the lake, sunrises and sunsets!

However, with having four kids (and the fifth on the way) it was a really long walk to the lake, any of the parks and even farther to the pool area. So we made note of this for any future stay. The campground is VERY long!

We had a great weekend Trick-or-Treating, the Haunted Barn, Halloween Games, and your normal camping activities.

This time, however, we picked a site by the pool area and it did NOT disappoint! The golf cart traffic was heavy, but it made for a really great time meeting other people and see how much fun the seasonal campers have during season!

For us, it was super nice to be right across from the fishing pond so the kids could fish easily. We were a stones throw from the pool, which was super nice! The lazy river was mine and Badrick's favorite place to be! We could also see the jump pillow from our campsite, so that made it nice when the kids were jumping!

The kids did end up frequenting the lake though... which was not something we had anticipated. They had a GIANT inflatable "American Ninja Warrior" type course that the kids had a blast playing on!

So perhaps next time we'll camp right in the middle of the park so we're about equal distance from the lake and the pool.

We rented kayaks and a paddle boat on Saturday. Rented a Ponton on Sunday. We really had such a great weekend! This is the only campground that we have really desired to make sure we end up at at least once a year!

Happy Camping!
