My No Poo Journey: Week 2
Phew! This has been one heck of a week!! It has gone by super fast since we've been super busy! The weather seems to finally be turning nice so people are wanting to get out of their house, start getting ready for summer and that means my phone and email are blowing up with people wanting to wrap!
Week 2 is now complete! So far I'm still absolutely loving this No Poo thing! I have noticed the amount of time in-between washes needed is starting to increase. Before I started No Poo, if I skipped one washing (I wash daily), then my hair started to grease up pretty quickly. Now I'm able to go 2 days before I notice much greasiness. I usually stick to night showers so I don't have to do it first thing in the morning; so I took a shower Thursday night (the 27th). Friday we had a lot of running around to do and the kids were attending a Child Care Fundraiser at Bentley's school for 4 hours. So I got all dolled up on Friday to have a night mini-date night with Ben. Saturday was SUPER busy. We spent all morning at the Chevy dealership getting our new truck (LOOKIE!) and then we had to get around for Ben's Grandparents' 58th Wedding Anniversary Party! I didn't have time to shower, so I redid my makeup and got dressed.

All night I kept checking my hair because by this time I was coming up on 48 hours without washing my hair. It wasn't horrible like it normally would be! My hair was still pretty voluminous, it was shiny and soft and still gave me a little "pep" when I fluffed it! I was pretty impressed!
This week, on Tuesday night I tried a little Apple Cider Vinegar instead of White Vinegar. I'm not loving it. It didn't soften my hair like the White Vinegar does and my hair felt more "straw-like" than it has since I've started No Poo. So I will be going back to White Vinegar and sticking with that.
Friday afternoon I got my hair cut!!
Everyone commented on how my hair looked once they knew I hadn't used shampoo or conditioner in 2 weeks! It is the softest, shiniest and most voluminous it's ever been naturally!
Some days I feel like I'm doing this all wrong... How can I love this so much? How can I have such great results after only 2 weeks?! But for 2 weeks I've only washed my hair with Baking Soda and conditioned it with Vinegar... The ONLY exception was when I had my hair done... but it was washed with Clarifying Shampoo.
Here is my Week 2 picture! Freshly washed and naturally dried!
So... I'm loving it. Week 2 in the books and I'm so glad I made the switch! My hair is really benefiting from this!
Until next time, friends
