Take Them on Vacation...

It will be fun, they said!

Truth is... It was a blast! Getting ready for vacation SUCKS. Like it REALLY sucks. Especially when you're basically doing 98.99% of the packing by yourself with 2 kids, one being a needy 6 month old who is getting over a cough and is super fussy and clingy. Can you say THANK GOODNESS for babywearing?!

Anyways. I know what you moms of 3++++++ are thinking... ppsssh! Packing for 2 kids and 2 adults is SO EASY! I'm sure I will be laughing at myself down the road when we take a vacation (God-willing) with more than 2 babies. But for now, this is my life and it was our first weekend away with 2 kids... so it was rough getting everything packed and organized!

We took the weekend to go down to Dundee, MI and stay at the Holiday Inn Splash Universe indoor water park! Friday was a madhouse. Bailey was upset I wasn't cuddling her like I normally do when she nurses. It was kind of like, hurry-up-and-nurse-so-I-can-get-shit-done all day. As bad as that sounds... that was our reality. I felt like I had to pack my entire house!

Enough with the boring crap... here are some pictures from our stay!

Her first time sitting in a big girl highchair!

After getting really crappy service and having to remind her about his salad and then telling her THREE times that he wanted Thousand Island... NOT Italian, we finally got it! Yikes!

First time at a water park! Getting to use our Water Ring Sling for how it's intended! Super fun! This made our trip to the water park so incredibly enjoyable!

This kid is fearless! He absolutely LOVED every water slide he went down. Including the big green tunnel one! "Go again momma! Go again!"

Selfies were really the only way to prove that Bailey and I were there!

One last romp at the water park before we hit Cabela's and go home!

Terrible family picture! But a family picture at the water park none-the-less!

I was wiping her nose and tired Little Miss never woke up a wink!

She finally decided to be present for part of her first Cabela's trip! A ride in the big girl cart for the first time!

This kid rarely falls asleep anywhere but his own bed... so you know he's tired when he falls asleep in the cart at Cabela's!

I was impressed when we first drove in. The main lobby (though I never made it back there to take pictures) seemed really nice. I waited in the car with the kids while hubby and our friends checked in. We drove around to the side of the hotel where our room was and unloaded. Walking in you were greeted with the overwhelming (in a good way!) of the backwoods feel. Being that Cabela's was right in our "backyard" the hotel was all decked out in big game attire.

Our room, for the price, was pretty disappointing. It slept 8, which is how many we had (9 if you want to include Bailey... but she can sleep anywhere), but it was CROWDED. The rooms looked much bigger online. There was a really spacious "master" bedroom with a King sized bed, closet, dresser and TV. We ended up that occupying that since Bailey would be getting up to eat every now and then and I needed to have a private place to pump a few times a day.

The kids' bunkbeds were pretty awesome! But the bathroom was right there and so it made everything that much more crowded, even moreso that the bathroom door hit the toilet everytime you opened it. Also, for the price we paid, I would have expected a kitchen more than what we had. Especially since this hotel is catering to families.

But, good thing was we didn't spend much time in our room other than for sleeping! So it wasn't that big of a deal! We really enjoyed the entire weekend and the kids had a blast! We will definitely be visiting more water parks in the near future! I have two water loving babies!

Until next time, friends
