Self-proclaimed Night Shifter
You guys... I'm becoming a 3rd shifter. It's not that I wanted to. Well, maybe a little. I can get so much done at night once everyone is asleep! But it's wreaking havoc on my husband's sleeping and that's not good. He has been late or very close to being late more times in the last couple months than he has in the 8 years that I've been with him.
It's all my fault.
We have dinner like a civilized American family. Around 6, sometimes 7 at night. Kids get a bath, sometimes with mommy or with daddy. The other person cleans up the kitchen after dinner and heads out for barn chores if they haven't already been done.
Bentley heads to bed, Bailey gets nursed and then handed off to Ben for their nightly nap-before-bed. Then I proceed to pump, clean up the house, do some laundry, sometimes dishes if they aren't done yet and I try... keyword, try. I try to get us into before before 11. Ben has to be up for work by 430a. Ugh.
I don't know how to get everything done. If I send Bailey and Ben up to bed, Bailey won't sleep without me in the room. It's like she knows. I can lay her down either in her crib or our bed and if I leave the room, she stirs a few minutes later. So I just leave them in the rocking chair.
On the weekends it isn't so bad. I really, really try not to fussy-pants around during the week.
What am I doing wrong? It's nice to get things done without kids crawling up your back and needing something, but I can't be having my husband lose sleep because of it and therefore being late for work or Heaven-forbid not make it to work due to lack of sleep.
Help!
Oh, here's some cuteness since I don't have any other pictures for this post!
Until next time, friends
