My No Poo Journey: Week 1

You guys... so far I'm LOVING this No Poo thing! I'm already seeing the effects of NO commercial soaps/shampoos/conditioners and it's only been a week!

I've been washing my hair with my baking soda mixture and conditioning it with my vinegar mixture for every shower. I take a shower everyday for the most part.

After my shower my hair has been a breeze to brush through! The only thing different I've noticed is that it's not as "sleek" when running my finger through it while it's wet. It feels a little like straw, but once my hair is dry it is soft and smooth and bounces!

Once I make it to the store to buy a new thing of Coconut Oil, I will be deep-conditioning my hair with that and will do a post about it!

For now, here are some pictures of my hair 1 week into our journey!

OK, so I couldn't wait the entire week... I'm too excited. It's close enough though, today being Day 6 of my journey!

Here's some pictures!

This was Day 5 after my shower and after naturally drying! The softness, the bounce, the shine! Normally my hair needs a lot of convincing (with products) to be bouncy and voluminous! Now it's like it's becoming natural for it! I'm loving it!

Last night I had Zumba! It totally kicked ass! I had a lot of pent-up aggression from the day that I totally took it out on Zumba. So naturally, I sweat like a <insert witty yet mildly offensive phrase here>.

So my hair looked like this...

It looked a lot worse in person. Believe me. It was nasty.

I was a bit nervous about how No Poo would handle this sweaty disaster that I called my hair last night.

Well, the verdict is in.
Take a look for yourself.

Please ignore the fact that I look like hell! I had just woken up this morning and since I'm a WAHM, I have the blessing to not have to get dressed or done up everyday. Quite frankly, I'm comfortable enough to not wear makeup everday and I love that about myself!

So, anywho.... There is my Day 6 picture! My hair was super soft this morning, VERY bouncy and so full of life! I did have to run a brush through my hair before the picture because... well, if the picture itself isn't scary enough, my hair sticking up in a million places would have done you in!

So... for the recap of Week 1.

I'm LOVING it!

Stay tuned!
