Getting Fit while Breastfeeding: Holding Back Tears

Image
I'm not sure if I've ever been more frustrated with my body... I've been battling ankle issues for what seems like my entire life. Probably realistically just since high school when I was heavy into sports. For Volleyball, I always had to get my arches and ankles wrapped before practice and games. I've always been "made fun of" for "tripping" over lines painted on the concrete. I am known for randomly rolling my ankles even while just standing still.  But, fast forwarding to the present time... When I was pregnant with Bailey, I didn't seem to have much of an issue with either of my ankles. I rolled my left ankle once or twice during my pregnancy with her, but other than that, I faired well.  Well, after having Bailey in August 2013, I've been having issue after issue. My right ankle was super sore every single day from the moment I woke up to the moment I finally laid down in bed. Walking was awful, going up and down the stai...

Reflection

Image
It's been quite some time since I last posted. Lots of stuff going on and lots of stuff on my mind. I tend to shut down when my mind is filled, mostly because I'm not a writer, nor have I ever pretended to be. My mind is a jungle, something not easily tamed. So when it's full, it's best to just steer clear and find a new route around.  But tonight is different. I don't know why. It just is.  We've had a lot going on in the last couple months. My business has taken off, to a whole nother level. I'm so incredibly grateful and humbled. I am so passionate about what I do, not only has it changed our lives but it is changing the lives of so many others. Mentally, physically, health-wise and financially. We've taken a couple vacations. One to Chicago to visit a mommy group friend and another to Tennessee to visit another friend from the same mommy group as well as spend a week with family that I haven't seen in well over 10 years. It...

The Incredible Greens! - Review

Image
It Works! Greens Reviews Wrote by Jessica R. Background Info The past few years have been extremely difficult for me. I struggled with a lot of life problems, family problems, etc. Within the last year, things really went downhill. I was having a very hard time getting any sleep, I would get a lot of headaches due to stress and environmental factors. To put it simply, I felt horrible, had no energy, no motivation, no drive, nothing. I was tired all the time, would often sleep much of the day away, get up for maybe 8 hours for work, shower, etc. then I'd be back in bed. I had absolutely no energy to do anything and nothing worked. I was desperate. I was feeling more and more miserable. I hated sleeping so much. I probably even suffered from depression. I knew something had to change but due to my current job/life situation, my options were unfortunately very limited. I even contemplated going to the doctor, thinking something had to be wrong with me. But I couldn't...

Getting Fit while Breastfeeding: The Plateau

Image
Oy... It's been awhile since I've posted about my journey. I've hit a plateau pretty badly. I've been gaining and losing the same 5-10 pounds for the last month or so. I keep trying to remind myself that I'm doing this to feel better, stronger and have more energy. But it's hard to not see the scale go down and to not feel my clothes fitting much better. I have been wrapping with my Ultimate Body Applicators and I'm doing the 3 month challenge (blog post HERE when that's finished)... but I want to see more body results NOW.  I do feel better. Stronger. More stamina. My posture is improving and my core strength is... getting there. Once Ben is done with his schooling I will be able to work out everyday. Zumba twice a week and riding my horse on the days I don't do Zumba. Plus housework and running after the kids. Between all that, wrapping and this 3 month challenge, I should be rockin' it pretty well. Some days I'm comfortable in...

My No Poo Journey: Progress!

Image
So I figured it was time for an update! I'm seeing some awesome results with No Poo! I've only used Baking Soda to wash and White Vinegar to condition my hair since March! Before starting No Poo, I couldn't go more than 1 or 2 days in-between washing my hair. Now... I'm at FIVE days! Five! By day 2 with commercial hair care products, I would have been able to fry up some eggs and bacon with the amount of grease on my head!  My hair is wonderfully easy to style now, soft and shiny, bouncy and full of life! I absolutely love how healthy my hair looks and feels now. Something I was never able to achieve with commercial hair care products. My hair doesn't look all shiny and freshly washed. Because it's not! But do you see greasiness? Heck no! Like I've said, usually by day 2, my head would be so full of grease that you could strip it off and fry up some breakfast with it. Not that I ever would... or would I?  No. That's gross. But,...

The Dreaded... Nursing Room

Image
OK. So I may have an unpopular opinion here, but these nursing rooms are not helping out those of us who are trying to make 'Nursing in Public' a normal thing. Don't get me wrong. These rooms are great for those who are not comfortable nursing in public, but they don't want to pump and bottle feed while out and about. Some women are just not comfortable with nursing in public at all and that's OK. But for us who are comfortable with it and can do it discreetly even without a cover, these rooms don't serve us any justice. It's our job to make nursing in public a normal and accepted thing. Feeding our babies is natural, normal and should never looked down upon, ever. Whether you feed formula with a bottle, breast milk with a bottle or feed straight from the tap; a happy and well-fed baby is a pleasant baby that everyone can appreciate. So why does it matter how we feed that child? The issue I see with Nursing Rooms is when someone feels uncomfortable...

That Crazy WrAp Thing!

Image
So I'm so excited about my business lately! It is flourishing and I'm so blessed that I was introduced to this amazing company a little over 2 years ago! We are on the fast track to making some BIG bucks, so with that comes lots of One on One's, Wrap Parties, Launch Parties for DT's, Team Calls, One Team One Mission Parties... you name it, I'm usually there! This is not a job to me. This company has changed my life in more ways than I can count. It has helped us pay off debt, have extra money at the end of the week for "play", we have been able to take trips we never would have been able to because of this company. I'm just so thankful and blessed that It Works! has changed my life so much! I have some BIG goals in May! This is going to be one hell of a month! I have ditched the fear I've been holding inside for so long and I'm going to make this business soar even more than it has been! So, I wanted to share some of my recent clie...
